4 Day Fast with Hikes

I was inspired by Chris Hemsworth after watching the Limitless on Disney+ to do a 4 day food fast. I highly recommend Limitless. It has been fun to watch. I’ve had several tumors removed and can feel several more. I have Vitiligo and figured it wouldn’t hurt to kill the bad cells in my body and repair the weak ones. Plus, I tried my college suite on the other day and the pants no longer fit.
My wife went to see her parents and I was with the 3 kids during the week. We watched the Chiefs defeat the Eagles in the Super bowl (Should have been my 49ers winning it all!) while we had shrimp, Queso, chips, and ice cream. After the Super Bowl I began my fast.
Day 1 was easy. However, I did catch myself getting up several times from my computer to go grab a snack. I really didn’t care to make dinner for the kids so I let them make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
Day 2 was like day one. I did start to feel a little weak and drank more water during the day. I took my kids on about a 3 miles hike and we picked up empty beer cans along the trail on the way back.
Day 3 was the hardest. I continued to maintain normal life, movement, and activities. I had to run the kids around with preschool, and activities. At night I have a ritual of grabbing some pistachios or ice cream and watching TV with the dog. He loves that time because he gets is nightly treat. I still have him his nightly treat, but he was a bit confused when I didn’t have anything. I felt a little lightheaded and a bit hungry. I made the kids homemade chicken noodle soup, and it smelled amazing. Of course, of all nights my middle child had an earache and was up crying at 11, 1, and 3. So I was on my 3rd night fasting and up most the night.
Day 4 wasn’t so bad. I think it was the knowledge that I was going to be able to eat dinner that made it easier. I picked up my preschooler and we went for a 1 mile walk around the lake. He loved seeing and feeding the ducks. When we got home, I started on dinner. I made Spaghetti pasta with moose burger and melted mozzarella cheese. After 96 hours of no food, I ate a salad and felt pretty good. I ran my oldest daughter to an activity and then sat down with the rest of the kids and had the spaghetti with French bread.
For the next couple days, food didn’t really sit the best. Over the time me weight went from 180.4 to 169.6. I lost 10.8 lbs. During the 4 days. It really wasn’t too bad of a process and I plan on doing it again.
